Pastor Siimon Haamer was born in 1973 and is married to his wife Reet-Ingrid, for 20 years. God blessed them with two children: son Eerik (16) and daughter Kärt (9). He is a pastor in the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church (EELC) where his two older brothers and father also serve as pastors and his grandfather before them. His family story represents a vivid example of life for Christians under oppression by Soviet authorities during 50 years of occupation.
Siimon graduated Tartu Academy of Theology (TAT) in 1998. Today he is the Dean of TAT.
Pr. Haamer received his Master of Theology degree from the EELC Seminary in 2016. His thesis involved a study focusing on mentoring and spiritual direction needs for the clergy of the EELC. This thesis has been very useful for Siimon in developing a mentoring program for the Church. Siimon is a member of the Church's General Synod.
Pr. Haamer stated, “I'm thankful to my parents and grandparents as they have been my spiritual companions on my faith journey. Their intercessory prayers are my biggest treasure.”
